NITheCS at National Science Week 2025

NITheCS once again participated in the official launch of National Science Week, which was held at the Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria West on 2 August 2025. Under the theme ‘Science, Technology, and Innovation are for everyone’, the event brought together learners, educators, researchers and science enthusiasts from across the country.

NITheCS hosted an exhibition stand that attracted hundreds of curious minds throughout the day. We had the opportunity to interact with high school learners and teachers, and introduce them to the world of theoretical and computational science. Our team showcased how research across our themes contributes to solving real-world challenges, and how accessible these fields are to all.

Through interactive demonstrations, thought-provoking discussions, and informative materials, we aimed to inspire learners to pursue careers in science and research, especially in areas that are often overlooked but critical to the future of innovation in South Africa.

NITheCS remains committed to supporting science awareness and education. National Science Week continues to be a powerful platform to spark curiosity and promote a culture of scientific inquiry among young South Africans.
