UKUDLA PhD scholarship grants 2026
The African German Centre for Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems and Applied Agricultural and Food Data Science, which is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the Federal Foreign Office (AA), the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH) in Germany is offering scholarships to German and African applicants to support PhD-thesis research projects in Southern Africa in cooperation with one of our partner institutions.
- UKUDLA aims to develop the expertise of young scientists in sustainable and resilient food systems and applied data science. Applications that integrate both aspects are particularly encouraged.
- The scholarship covers a time period of 36 months (with an optional extension of 6 months) and includes a subsistence allowance, travel and flight costs are provided, and additional research funds can be applied for.
- Please note there are different calls and conditions for German and African applicants.
- Applications can be submitted until 6 February 2026.
- Your application must relate to a research topic published on our website.
