Application deadline: 25 March 2024
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester is seeking to appoint a new permanent lectureship (assistant professor equivalent) in Quantum Machine Learning, at the intersection of physics, quantum information, quantum technology, and machine learning (ML).
We seek a candidate who has evidence of research output in one or more areas of quantum machine learning, including:
Applying quantum computing to ML to achieve quantum advantages over classical approaches,
Using classical ML to tackle problems in quantum science,
Developing quantum computing approaches to deal with ML problems involving quantum data
The successful applicant will initiate a research programme and develop collaboration across world-leading research in the Department spanning cosmology to high-energy physics, nanoscience, photonics, and quantum theory.
