Women’s Month Writing Retreat – 2024
To celebrate Women’s Month, we invite female NITheCS Associates to participate in our third self-run Writing Retreat. This offers successful applicants an opportunity to focus on a piece of work – without the interruptions of daily life. We will contribute up to R10 000 for this break-away opportunity.

NITheCS/DSI-NRF Bursary Call 2023
NITheCS is offering bursaries on the Master’s and Doctoral levels for students who wish to commence or continue with studies in the NITheCS fields of science in 2023. These bursaries are available at all South African tertiary institutions.
To apply (new and current bursary holders):
- Complete the DSI-NRF Postgraduate Student Funding application. More information can be found here.
- Complete our online Bursary Application Form and upload all documents.

NITheCS RFPs for Focus Areas: request for re-proposals
This request for pre-proposals is open to all NITheCS Associates. It intends to promote collaborations in the network of Associates and advance high impact research that addresses grand societal challenges, such as:
- Climate change and sustainability
- Future-proof education and skills
- Health and wellbeing
- The future of production and employment
- The future of society

Call for Women’s Month Writing Retreat

This seeks to create an opportunity for female NITheCS Associates to focus on a piece of work – without the interruptions of daily life. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this will be a self-run retreat.
NITheCS will contribute up to R10 000 for this break-away opportunity.
Deadline for applications: 17 September 2021.
Successful applicants will be notified by 30 September 2021.
