Dear Associates and extended NITheCS family,
It was my privilege to present NITheCS’ strategic vision and achievements in research, training, and engagement at our 24 June Colloquium titled ‘Charting the Future of NITheCS: Progress and Prospects in Research, Training, Engagement, and Africa‘. A recording of the event, as well as our other events, can be viewed on our YouTube channel.
We have added a new series of NITheCS Micro-Schools to our programme. These practical, peer-to-peer 20-minute talks focus on skills sharing, with 10 minutes afterwards for questions. The key idea is the transfer of ‘how to’ skills. We invite Masters or PhD-qualified individuals in our community to suggest topics they could present on Fridays at 12:00. See examples of our micro-schools here.
On a similar theme, we are always open for suggestions of topics and presenters for our colloquiums and mini-schools. We also welcome suggestions of overseas visitors who could present a talk for us. Please email us at info@nithecs.ac.za.
Looking ahead, Women’s Month is in August and we once again invite female NITheCS Associates to participate in our self-run Writing Retreat. Successful applicants will receive a grant to focus on a chosen piece of work without the interruptions of daily life.
May the month of July be interesting and productive for us all!
Kind regards
Francesco Petruccione
Director
